Petals for Peace - You Can Help Stop This War.

Tue Apr 18, 2006 at 11:00:21 AM PDT

This is a re-post of BostonJoe's diary from early this morning (which is also available in green). Let's try to get some wider exposure for it. How much cyber-ink has been wasted on why this war in Iraq must end? This is how to help. How you can help. Let your voice be heard.

If you want to help stop the war in Iraq, here is an easy way for you to get involved.  Spend a few minutes reading this diary.

Last month a local peace organization held a week-long picket of Rep. Mike Rogers' (R-MI) district office.  As part of the picket, members of the peace community started delivering single flowers to Rogers' office, asking him to help stop the war.  The idea was so popular and easy, passing citizens joined in.  We ended up delivering about 14 dozen flowers in a three day period.  We called the deliveries, "Petals for Peace."

Today we are continuing our campaign.  And we've made it really easy for anyone, anywhere to participate.  Here is what you need to do:

Chafee to support Bolton

It looks like the lobbying coming from the Bush administration has gotten to Lincoln.  He says that he will now offer his reluctant support.

It isn't a surprise, as he hasn't ever said anything to the contrary, but his prior record of crossing party lines and his misgivings about Bolton had given me hope.

The National Forest Interstate

Thu May 05, 2005 at 01:39:55 PM PDT

This is important especially for those living in the western states, where the majority of these forests are.

If you haven't heard, the Bush administration is continuing their environmentally irresponsible agenda by opening up about 60 million acres of US wilderness to road building and other eco-unfriendly activity.

Individual states have 18 months to protest...not sure what that does, but it sounds like a worthwhile pursuit.
